Got any crackpot Mars geology theories that have recently been refuted
by evidence?

Feel free to publish your retractions here, on the usenet.

What's to retract? It's perfectly obvious the Martians
were attempting to tame the Rovers like American
Indians tamed horses, and it would've worked to
except NASA uploaded *spirited* software, and
discouraged the Martians.
Oh, I know what you're going to say, how come
the Rovers didn't actually see the Martians, well duh!
they're transparent. Think evolution, if there is no food
on Mars (did you see a McDonalds on Mars? No),
then of course they'll evolve to become transparent!
If you pull your head out of the convenient cavity
it currently occupies, you would have suggested (as
I did) that we should arm the Rovers with spray
paint ejectors, (duh! does anyone watch the invisible
man, or did I think this up myself).

It was already tried in secret and didn't work. Apparently they have also
evolved a skin that is like a super Teflon. Not only does the paint not
stick, it immediately rebounded back onto the camera lens, ending the view.

Of course, there was a brief outline of a short guy in a helmet with what
looked like a pushbroom mounted to the top.

So am I, the usenet is great, isn't it? Without the usenet, there
would be no really creative crackpot theories to refute, no crackpot
indices to calculate.

The really great crackpot theories are so amazing, they don't even
qualify as science, they are true artistic genius. Obviously you have
seen this :

I just can't compete with that!

I, Unclaimed J. Mysteries, son of the late Homer J. Mysteries of Heater,
California, aged 47 years, tried personally by this newsgrope, and
kneeling before You, the most Emulent Cabal, Inquisitors-General
throughout the whole of the Internet Thingy against heretical depravity,
I Abjure with sincere Heart and unclaimed Faith, I Curse and Detest the
said errors and heresies, specifically the one involving the Face on
Mars being That of L. Ron Hubbard. That was the Thunderbird Talking. And
I swear that for the future I will neither say nor assert in speaking or
writing such things as may bring upon me similar suspicion; and if I
know any preverted extremophiliac, or one suspected of extremophilia, I
will denounce him to this Holy Office, or to the Inquisitor and Ordinary
of the place in which I may be...

Yes, I do recall the alien you speak of, and this
(if I recall my cartoons) would explain the bunny
artifact on Mars too. Thank you...
I'm currently reviewing my cartoon's...
Does Bush look like Quick Draw McDraw, with
Powell a look alike to Bubba-Looie?
Coincidence? Perhaps, but more likely,
Hanna-Barbara programmed these people at a
young age. Did anyone notice how Howdy-Dowty
and Ronald Regan shared a vast degree of traits.

Huh?

I've always assumed that the reason the success rate for Martion landers
has been so low was that if any landed anywhere interesting (ie, not
looking like the Australia outback), then they were quickly clobbered
with a large rock before any signals were transmitted.

Sylvia.
