Default PLI

Our Society has organised a Transit viewing for the general public and local
school children, and some of our members are worried whether our Public
Liability Insurance will be any good.

I have contacted the FAS but cannot understand their replies. They seem to
bear no relation to my question which was about the Solar filters and public
misuse.

We intend to check every filter before and during the viewing, and will also
ask the Teachers/Supervisors to check the filter first (thanks to Nigel for
the suggestion) and approve direct viewing. As an additional precaution, we
will also be shielding the filter from inquiring fingers!

There will be warning signs up about not looking at the Sun with the naked
eye etc, so we can't do much else to ensure their safety.

What do other Societies think about the PLI cover?

TIA
