Macintosh and Astrophotography
All:
Have used Macs for years, and have always wished that there were drivers for CCD cams...there is plenty of planetarium and telescope control programs, but a dearth of software for imaging. Came across this link yesterday and am quite excited...this seems to be an obvious endeavour for a gearhead, and wonder why more have not done this. See iCCD for Starlight Xpress Cameras at http://www.iccd.us/ Sincerely, Don |

Came across this link yesterday and am quite excited...this seems to be an obvious endeavour for a gearhead, and wonder why more have not done this. See iCCD for Starlight Xpress Cameras at http://www.iccd.us/ Thanks to Mr. Steinberg for posting the link to my little page on Mac astronomy software. One of the links leads to Equinox, a planetarium program that can also control SBIG CCD cameras. There are a numerous options for webcam control. To my shame, I have not listed iCCD yet; this is going to get me chewed out if I don't do it soon, as the author of iCCD is a principal organizer of the Macintosh Astronomy Workshop (MAW) http://mrmac.mr.aps.anl.gov/~macastroworkshop/, which I will attend on September 8, followed by AstroFest http://chicagoastro.org/. I hope to have new information and insights for http://www.davidillig.com/ast-threemacs.shtml upon my return from MAW. Davoud -- usenet *at* davidillig dawt com |
