Default _Countdown_ released on eerie echo of DVD, download

The Warner Home Video Archive has started up a project in which
movies that don't deserve to be completely lost and yet aren't popular
enough to be mass-marketed can be printed on demand, either as a real
if barebones DVD or as a download. Of interest here would be Robert
Altman's _Countdown_, featuring the otherwise completely obscure Lunar
Gemini plan and, what, forty straight minutes of a guy flipping
switches without an external shot?

When I first saw that movie I thought the whole thing was BS, not
realizing that the whole concept was based on a real Gemini idea and the
intentional marooning of the astronaut on the Moon for later pick-up was
the Bell plan discussed in FTETTM.
Another interesting little touch is the crashed Soviet manned lander
shown in the movie... this is basicly the upper stage of a Vostok
launcher with added landing legs and a domed top added.
