Default Shades of 2001! Crew Announced for New Jupiter Mission

Juno, NASA's next mission to orbit Jupiter, will be the first manned
mission to the giant planet, it has been announced.

Juno's launch window opens this Friday, August 5th. The one-way
journey will take 5 years, arriving in 2016.

So, my question - why did the Legonauts have to be made out of
aluminum rather than the "standard" Lego figure plastic?

To much risk/worry about parts separating or cracking in the cold?

Or do they figure that the Legonauts have a better chance of surviving
a launch accident without an LES if they are aluminum?-)
