Default MOND and the accelerating Cosmos

I was wondering if any experts out there know of anyone trying to apply MOND
gravitation as an alternative explanation to the Supernova data done by
Kirshner, et al. That is, does MOND offer an alternative to an accelerating
universe as the standard explanation for the Supernova data? Do we really
need a cosmological constant or quintessence or dark energy or whatever to
explain the data if in fact are view of simple gravity is incorrect? Or on
the other hand does MOND only apply to such principles as galaxy rotation
and thus not have any explanatory power for the Supernova data?

As an aside, Sciam's feature article this month is on the accelerating
cosmos, and one explanation is a different view of gravity, but MOND is not
mentioned in the articles. Instead, a leaking theory of gravity is used to
explain the data differently.

Any MOND experts out there want to explain all this to the group?

TIA
