Leonov's spacewalk film

I was reading in the bathroom when I ran across an item written by Jan
Philips on Sun, 24 Aug 2003 23:55:43 -0400,
which said:

I read that some of the film released purporting to show Leonov's
spacewalk was faked. The footage I've seen looks real. Can anyone
shed any light on this?


Aha! So *that* is why the Soviets didn't squeal on us for faking
Apollo 11!

....When the Soviets released the footage, it contains a mix of real
EVA footage and footage taken from a training session. Presumably the
training footage was thrown in to hide Leonov's troubles reentering
the inflatable airlock at the end of the EVA. Note that even *I*
haven't seen the entire EVA sequence, only the snippets that have
popped up from time to time.

Hmmm...a Spacecraft Films Soviet Space series, anyone?

....All kidding aside, I was hoping that when Jim revised _RSIO_, he
would have included a frame-by-frame analysis of the Leonov footage so
that one could see what was real and what was faked.
