I had a Texaco Fire Chief helmet that had a loudspeaker on it when I was
a kid.
Did you ever have a Col. McCauley helmet when you were young?:

....I had a Sky Chief one - that was the white one - which is now
extremely rare to find. They didn't make too many of them, and
apparenlty one in mint condition goes upwards of $1000.00, especially
if it's still in the box.

....Ironically, Pop wouldn't let Mom buy one for me that Chrisnukkah
because I'd gotten the Sky Chief helmet. Undaunted, tho, I took an old
translucent hat box she had, covered it in foil, and made a fairly
close-if-you-squint version of Wiley Post's off-centered helmet.
Lasted most of that Halloween night until I forgot to duck under this
low-hanging branch and ripped it in two. ****ed off, I tossed it in
the trash, but the old lady whose tree I hit felt sorry for me, and
gave me *three* handfuls of candy for my trouble.
