Ok, the reason for the slight differences in answers you are
getting.....333 x and 339 x...is because some people are rounding
off the 25.4 mm per inch conversion value....some are just going
with 25 mm per inch which gives a 1600 mm FL, divided by 4.8 eyepiece,
which gives 333 power. Others are multiplying 64 inches times 25.4
mm/inch to come up with a FL of 1625.6 mm and dividing that value
by 4.8 eyepiece, = ~ 339 X....so, depending upon how much accuracy
you want, take your pick.

I think the Meade 25WA is about the lowest I could go on this F8 scope, as it is
when I use it I get the feeling I've to fall threw the EP into outer space! And
with that 4.8 on the moon last night, I could swear I got poked in the eye by a
mountain top!

It's perhaps worth bearing in mind that:

1. The mirror is almost certainly not precisely 8" (203mm) in diameter

and:

2. Even more certainly, the focal ratio is almost certainly not precisely
f/8.

It's unlikely that either have more than 2 digits of precision, so quoting
the resulting magnification to lots of significant figures is unwarranted.

Probably the most one can reasonably say is that it's "more than likely
somewhere between 330x and 340x".
