Default LACK OF QUESTIONS IN EINSTEIN ZOMBIE WORLD

Perhaps the cleverest hypnotist in Einstein criminal cult, John
Norton, explains the "Problem of Reciprocity":

http://www.pitt.edu/~jdnorton/teachi...ity/index.html
"Imagine a car that fits perfectly into a garage. The garage is a
small free standing shed that is just as long as the car. There is a
door at the front and a door at the rear of the garage. The car fits
exactly--as long as it is at rest. Now image that we drive the car at
86.6% speed of light through the garage. The doors have been opened at
the front and the rear to allow passage of the car. Can the garage
attendant close the doors so that, at least for a few brief moments,
the car is fully enclosed within the garage? According to the garage
attendant, there is no problem achieving this. At 86.6% the speed of
light, the car has shrunk to half of its length at rest. It fits in
the garage handily. The garage attendant can close both doors and trap
the car inside."

John Norton's explanation implicitly involves the conclusion that, if
the car is longer than the garage, then again "the garage attendant
can close both doors and trap the car inside". Whether or not this
falsifies Einstein's light postulate on which the conclusion is based
is a serious problem. A much more serious problem however is the fact
that, for a century, nobody has found it suitable to ask the simple
question: "What if the car is longer than the garage?".

It would still fit.

You pretend that "nobody" has asked this .. but its an old non-paradox of
relativity. The usual form is the pole and barn. see usually the pole and
barn (or ladder and barn) paradox.

see http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu.../polebarn.html
see http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/ph...barn_pole.html
see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ladder_paradox

As presented above, even with the car longer than the garage, its not an
apparent paradox .. its just what happens because of length contraction.

The paradox (or apparent paradox) occurs when you consider that the
garage/barn is also moving relative to the car/pole/ladder .. which means
the garage shrinks as far as the car is concerned .. so how can the car fit
inside it?

Once you understand it, though, it makes perfect sense. It only appears
problematic when you consider length contraction on its own .. when you
consider relative simultaneity, it all makes sense.

Maybe you should try learning some relativity, pentcho.

Still the question "What if the car is longer than the garage?" or
"What if the pole is longer than the barn?" is neither asked by
Einstein zombie world nor answered by Einstein criminal cult. John
Baez and his brothers criminals have just found it suitable to make
fun of zombies. They want to see if zombies would accept ANY idiotic
explanation:

http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/ph...barn_pole.html
"These are the props. You own a barn, 40m long, with automatic doors
at either end, that can be opened and closed simultaneously by a
switch. You also have a pole, 80m long, which of course won't fit in
the barn....So, as the pole passes through the barn, there is an
instant when it is completely within the barn. At that instant, you
close both doors simultaneously, with your switch. Of course, you
open them again pretty quickly, but at least momentarily you had the
contracted pole shut up in your barn. The runner emerges from the far
door unscathed."

Yes .. it is .. all the time .. and answered very nicely. You're an idiot.

Jeckyl Jeckyl your brother Dono and especially Master Tom Roberts may
find your reply irrelevant. According to the above scenario, "you open
them [the doors] again pretty quickly, but at least momentarily you
had the contracted pole shut up in your barn. The runner emerges from
the far door unscathed."

Your brother Dono and especially Master Tom Roberts agree but they
want to know what would happen if you do NOT open the doors again
pretty quickly. Jeckyl jeckyl can you explain this to your brother
Dono and especially to Master Tom Roberts?

He'd be pretty tired after running that fast though

If you don't open the door, then the pole would crash into the door in front
of it .. and with the amount of energy and momentum in it at such high
speed, it would probably make a bit of a mess of both the pole and the door.

Bravo Jeckyl Jeckyl! You did give a relevant reply in the end and your
brother Dono and especially Master Tom Roberts will be fascinated. It
seems bellicose zombies in Einstein criminal cult will never stop
making breathtaking discoveries.
