X-43c was to have used liquid hydrocarbon as fuel:

...but I've heard that it has now been cancelled.

A number of other players (P&W, etc.) are working on HC-fueled
scramjets, either as fuel directly or more probably re-formed in
flight to something that burns more readily. See:

And note that GASL has already flow a hydrocarbon-fueled scramjet
