They assert that the gamma rays are emitted by the same process
that made the visible light. This is not true with most other
cosmic phenomenon (supernovae for example).

They discount any delay in production of Cerenkov radiation from
the gamma, into its characteristic visible component, and
subsequent longer path length through the air. See they don't
detect the gamma directly...

It is basically a fluff piece targeted to attract persons such as
yourself, like a moth to a flame. How does it feel to be
trolled?
