Can't we even talk about a deceased and much-loved musician without getting into flamefests? ....Tell you what, Steve: You stick to complaining about the two idiots responsbile for this mess - scott and LaDouche - and I'll stick to eulogizing Ray Charles. Confine your complaints to them, because complaining to -or- about *me* isn't going to get you anywhere. Again, stick blame where blame is due, and it ****ing ain't here. Er.... you sure you mean me? I've been saying the same thing as you - don't feed the flames. My response this time was intended in the same vein - I'm heartily sick of it. Ah well. I'm gone - I'm unsubscribing. Maybe I'll try again in a couple of years. Steve http://www.fivetrees.com |

I've been puzzling over that one. I sincerely don't understand. Is there something macho and manly about arguing with and hurling colourful insults at people online? If so, sorry, I don't get it. In my book, it's actually the other way around. I like being a grown-up. I'm happy to hear opinions I don't agree with. I like animated discussion. I just don't like flamefests - seen too many, no fun anymore. I find them embarrassing - hide-behind-the-sofa cringeville embarrassing - as in "why are you making such an arsehole of yourself in public?". If you want to talk about space, I'm *there* - especially with you, OM, as you're clearly a well-informed and interesting chap. But if you want to use this ng to continually demonstrate the pleasure you seem to take in tearing people new assholes, I just don't want to be around. Steve http://www.fivetrees.com |

If you run off and refuse to fight for your territory when someone decides to come in and do their best to cause havok solely for the sake of their own ego masturbation, then you're letting them win by default. ....Face facts, Steve. You're intelligent, and a welcome addition around here. That's why I'm urging you to not be a ****ing coward and run off just because a couple of known trolls are behaving like jerkoffs and a couple of others have taken it upon themselves to squash them like the pestilence they are. I'm not calling on you to join in the fight - hell, I've even curtailed my efforts, now that I've proven my point regarding their trollings - but to stick around and help keep the good stuff flowing while the bad stuff gets flushed out of here. Bottom Line: You run off and hide, it's a victory point for them, and they don't need the win. Period. OM -- "No ******* ever won a war by dying for | http://www.io.com/~o_m his country.
