many coins can fit in USA?Â* That's the number of stars.Â* Then we have
zillions of similar galaxies out there.

It's a tangible example of how big our galaxy is.Â* I bet you completely
missed the point.Â* Take a coin out of your wallet & drop it on the
ground.Â* The outer edge of that coin is the orbit of pluto, middle of
coin is where our sun is.Â* Now the Milky Way is the whole ****ing USA.

Let's talk numbers.

Our fastest spacecraft today, would take about 140 millennia for just a one way trip to our very nearest star neighbor. Say 50 generations for each millennia, or 7000 generations !

Let's be super optimistic and say our spacecraft speed could be increased to near light speed, which is extreemly unlikely. A trip across the galaxy would still take hundreds of millennia.

The idea of a multi-generational space journey is hilarious. The idea
thousands of generations can be born & die over that time span in a
glorified cruise ship is simply insane. It's like if we are on that
journey now that started 5,000 BC, & now we're finally approaching
proxima centauri & find oops no planets capable of sustaining any
mammalian life forms. What now? Ok where's the next nearest star from
here - let's try that one over there 23,000 yrs away.

Good Point .... but I wouldn't consider taking seven billion people to a
new Home Planet. ;-P
