Astro: Ngc 4517/4517a
Another picture from La Palma.
NGC 4517 is a nice edge-on galaxy almost exactly at the celestial equator. That would be quite low for Berlin, but at a good height from La Palma.
NGC 4517A is the faint face on galaxy above NGC 4517 which according to Guide9 is three times further away than NGC 4517, so they are not a physical pair.
Taken from Athos/La Palma with a Pentax 125 SDP (800mm focal length) and ASI 1600 camera on an AZ-EQ6 mount, 15x5 min Lum, 8x5 min RGB each.
The real "stars" in the image turned out to be the asteroids.
During stacking I saw a moving star and did another stack with "averaging" instead of "sigma stacking". I found seven asteroids in the image, which is a record for myself. One or two is not too unusal, but seven is rare. I was disappointed that Guide9 only knew three of those seven, so I had to check their identity with the help of MPchecker. I have attached a picture where I have identified (hopefully correctly) the minor planets.
