I think parallax is the problem but it doesn't seem that Roemer's
Hypothesis, which should be "obvious" for us today, has anything to do
with that problem. It deals with time, parallax depends on angles.
Now I do have my own ideas on what's wrong with parallax measurements,
but I ain't talking just yet.

for the behavior of Io.

Parallax is a conceptual dead end which forces the stellar background
into the astronomical insights which rely on the planetary cycles of
the solar system.It is extremely ineffective for 21st century data
whereas the original Roemerian insight generates powerful productive
avenues for application to the cosmos on the scale of galaxies.
