Hi:
G wrote: yeah it sucks... In what way does it "suck"? go get a tour pro camII... What, exactly, is a "tour pro camll"? Where can we get one? Better image quality and the dam thing works. Not like the celestron that didn't work when I got it... What didn't work? The other thing to consider is the Meade #902 lectronic EP. Currently $40 at telescopes.com. I've seen some very nice solar (thru a PST) and lunar photos and videos posted using this (B&W) device. Seems like a bargain and fun at that price. Output is composite video. Phil |

Does anyone have experience with this type of electronic EP? http://www.celestron.com/neximage/ I've got one that I've fooled around with a little. The Celestron NexImage basically is a webcam with a 1-1/4 barrel where the lens goes on a regular webcam. It is a nice imager that works as advertised. It comes with capture software and an older version of Registax. You can get newer versions of Registax from the Registax web site. The software works on an IBM ThinkPad with Windows 2000. The Meade LPI and the Orion whatsis are probably equivalent, but come with different software. There is a Google group catering to NexImage users. The only advice I have is to put a filter on the imager to keep dust from the CCD chip, which is hard to clean without damaging it. -- The night is just the shadow of the Earth. |

I am at odds with black and white but at 40 bucks, and a little portable TV , what the heck! Camping will have a new dimension. |
