Default Dual Drive Question

Hi, I'm waiting for a used Orion SkyView Pro mount purchased on AM.I have
also found a CG-5 dual axis drive for sale on AM. Will the CG-5 dual axis
drive work with the Orion SVP?

What's the degree of difficulty on the installation?

Instructions will be included if I buy the drives from AM.
Thank, Mike

NO NO NO Everyone will tell you the CG-5 drives are the same---THEY ARE
NOT. The mounting plate is different for the SkyView Pro---I know, I have 2
SVP mounts and two CG-5 mounts The drives DO NOT INTERCHANGE. Get the
drives from Orion. THe install is easy and fun...you'll learn about your
mount and it's eay to do...

Last thing. They don't track worth a damn. And screwing around with the
clutctches is a pain. And they eat batteries so you'll need a big power
supply. And then you'll have wires everywhere to trip over. and then you'll
break off the circuit board the first night out---everyone does. Then
you'll rarely use the drives....it's cool to have them but you won't use
them. Photography? They aren't that good. Bottom line? Save the $$$$ and
buy something more fun---Buy a Meade LPI and have some fun taking
pictures...
