Default Amateur Astronomy clubs near Marietta, GA ?

Are there any amateur astronomy clubs near Marietta, Georgia (USA)?
A friend lives in Marietta and is interested in getting started in astronomy.

Thanks,
Rich

Have him contact the Atlanta Astronomy Club. The AAC is large and
very active.

Are there any on the north side of the city? Nobody in Marietta wants
to drive all the way to Decatur; the traffic is unbearable, and the
skies are not dark there.

The skies are not dark anywhere near Atlanta to be honest. The Atlanta
Astronomy Club does have some dark sky sites. The only other club I
know of is an affiliate of the Atlanta Astronomy Club (the Charles
Elliot chapter, which meets out near Covington - certainly much farther
away from you).

I don't belong to AAC but I went to the Peach State Star Gaze last year
and most likely will again this year. Despite the name, it is just over
the border into Tennessee.
