SBIG 2000XCM -> SBIG 2000XM is this possible?
Hello All,
I have a 2000XCM, I'd like to consider moving away from the mosaic chip to a mono chip in the future - has anyone tried this? Does SBIG support this modification? Is this a daft thing to do? Pete |

I believe that SBIG will do that mod for you. Nothing daft about it- as you have discovered, a color sensor is something that serious imagers quickly outgrow. I guess what you need to compare is the cost of an upgrade to the B&W detector versus the cost of a used ST2000XM. You might almost come out even selling the XCM and buying an XM. _________________________________________________ Chris L Peterson Cloudbait Observatory http://www.cloudbait.com |

Thanks for your posting. I had asked SBIG in the UK & they felt I was a little crazy. Cheers, Pete |
