Default Unusual sighting

On the morning of Aug 13th, I was out watching for Perseid meteors. I
saw a bright red point of light, originating in the NE quadrant of the
great square of Pegasus. It moved slower than an ordinary meteor, and
didn't move in a straight line, but in a slight sinusoidal motion. It
was brighter than Deneb, maybe about the brightness of Vega. It moved
maybe 10 degrees in 2-3 seconds before it faded out.

Did anyone else see it? Any explanations of what it might have been?
The only thing I can come up with is that it might have been a piece of
space junk entering and burning up in the atmosphere -- that might
explain the wavering path. It appeared sometime between 12:45 and 12:50
am 8/13/10.

Good one. Could have been a spy satellite, but we'll likely never
know.

For example, cameras on ISS are moderated and/or filtered in order to
remove as much UFO information as possible. They even intentionally
remove most of the camera dynamic range in order to minimize or
exclude their picking up other stars and planets.
