Genuine courageous men

Today on June 6th they are honoring the sacrifices of those men who landed on the beaches of Western Europe in a push to overthrow an ideology which caused a lot of death and destruction. Although this forum seems far removed from the physical struggle that marked the success of those battles back 70 years ago I do recognize that the same peevish ideology which has wrecked havoc with astronomy for a number of centuries will be overthrown too by outstanding people who will employ all the tools at their disposal to extract humanity from jargon junkies and give them back astronomy as intrinsic to human understanding of their surroundings.

The beachhead in this instance is recovering the correlation between each rotation of the Earth with the elapsing of one day of the week to the next day or assigning a maximum equatorial speed of rotation per hour via the 24 hour system and the Lat/Long system.

Let the intellectual louts complain but never again will they dump nonsensical jargon on humanity under the name of 'astronomy'.

However, since you're asking people to fight for a delusion, the analogy with the other side in that conflict is closer.
