oups.com... This is different... http://tinyurl.com/235pdu http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/01/c...t-out-of-myst/ A modern orrery then, a nice conversation piece. BTW anyone know if there is a software version of one of these? I wasn't thinking of the usual planetarium software, more a working 3D solar system which can animate, speed up, pause, and can be viewed from any angle and zoomed in/out. |

HTH -- -- Graham W http://www.gcw.org.uk/XP1800+ Page added, Graphics Tutorial WIMBORNE http://www.wessex-astro.org.uk/Wessex Astro Society's Website Dorset UK Info, Meeting Dates, Sites & Maps I read the latest news from that website and the extreme symptoms that now pervade missions to space involving the largest organisations on the planet - http://www.space.com/news/070905_nas...deinstein.html The creations which give rise to the Piltdown man episode * are miniscule compared to the sheer audacity involved in rigging astronomical insights to suit the 'gravitational' agenda and it all began with a simple error created by John Flamsteed.Even if nobody ever clues into what occured in terms of clocks/terrestrial longitudes and the axial cycle on one side and the false approach to and resolution of retrogrades on the other, the astonishing sequence of events that leads to this present era where men look for 'dark' solutions has no parallel in human history or rather it is inhumane history. The worse part is not that I know the difference between the correct astronomical princioples and the later phony ones introduced by Flamsteed/Newton,the worst part is knowing that others do as well but do nothing, almost like Piltdown man except many degrees pf magnitude larger. * http://www.clarku.edu/~piltdown/map_...seAndFall.html |

Starry Night from http://www.space.com/. Starry Night turned out to be good for the planetarium side. However, I found a far better 3D solar system simulation in Celestia, which also had the advantage of being free and open source. http://www.shatters.net/celestia/index.html |
