skateboarding right.

No, they didn't :-).
The photograph was taken in Wales - not England.

I was listening to the news and they announced that while a kid was
skateboarding in england, he took a picture of a star exploding. He sent the
picture to nasa, and they put it up on their webpage. I went to their
website and could not find anything about the story.Ir wonder if any else
heard about this or where to find the story?
I wanted to see if their were more details as to when he saw the staburst.

No, it was merely a bright meteor, so as usual, the news media got it
wrong. The kid photographed the trail.

Sounds as though they were quoting the teenager's friend who said "the
sun has exploded". I have my doubts about the story - there are obvious
differences in the clouds between the two pictures, for instance.
