Default question about Alkaid

Tonight I was looking at Alkaid in the Big Dipper and noticed what looked to
be a cloud surrounding it. Was it my eyes or was there something I dont know
about this star.

It may have been a high cloud, as the star has no nebulosity
surrounding it. Clear skies to you.
