THE TRUE MEANING OF KUHNIAN REVOLUTIONS

A few years ago the situation seemed to be more than ripe for a Kuhnian revolution - an "international team of leading philosophers and physicists" had discovered that special relativity's "epistemological and ontological assumptions are now seen to be questionable, unjustified, false, perhaps even illogical":

Have the leading philosophers and physicists restored absolute simultaneity? No. What's happened? Nothing. False theories die in the end but Augean stables remain that no Hercules is able to clean up.
