Now there is plenty of Dark Matter near the Sun
[newsgroups snipped]
In article , Yousuf Khan writes: Coming off of a study just back in April of this year which said that they could find no hint of Dark Matter near the Sun, now a duelling study finds that there is plenty of Dark Matter near the Sun. The earlier study appears to have been wrong because one of its fundamental assumptions is false. The new study is at http://arxiv.org/abs/1206.0015 The fourth paragraph of the introduction gives some of the history with citations. What I gather from all this is that it's a really hard problem with current data, but better data should come along eventually. -- Help keep our newsgroup healthy; please don't feed the trolls. Well, we all know one study will challenge another study's fundamental assumption. The first study is probably challenging the latter study's fundamental assumption too. Yousuf Khan |

Dark matter means ebergy (ebergy known since the 1930's to makeenergy from 'dark matter'). Dark matter is solved for the first time (100pages) | gb[_3_] | Astronomy Misc | 0 | August 5th 08 05:24 PM |
