That is the best and most informative reply that I have even seen.

I haven't used these, but the Vista 10x50s sound very rugged from the
description and have a 20-year limited warranty.

The eye-relief is longer than that of the Scenix 10x50 WAs, 16mm vs
12mm, a 33% improvement, but then again the Scenix has a wider AFOV, 70
deg vs 53 deg, a 32% improvement. The central 5 degrees of my _cheap_
, 7 degree FOV 10x50s seem plenty sharp, and the outer part of the
field, while less good, still improves the overall view, IMO. The
eye-relief, OTOH, is bad.

You'll actually need to try several models of binoculars to decide for
yourself what is and isn't important.

I got the Vista's some time ago (6 years?), at least partially for the
long(er) eye relief (glasses), but I almost always use them without my
glasses anyway. They do work fine with glasses, I just prefer less
glass between my eyes and the light. Personally, I'm *very* pleased
with them - edge distortion is noticable in the outer 5-10% of the FOV,
but it's very sharp across the center. Focus is good, doesn't tend to
drift, and although there are times I've wanted a wider FOV (watching
NOSS triplets, mostly), it's been nearly ideal. I can (under dark
skies) tap down to magnitude 9.3 or so (at least on a tripod, which I'd
highly recommend).

The weight isn't bad, but they are 10x50's - personally, I think a
tripod and binocular mount is in the top five accessories I've ever
gotten for astronomy.
