Default ASTRO: Jupiter July 27

I usually don't image planets, but when I wanted to pack in my deep sky
stuff on July 27 at half past four in the morning Jupiter shone so nicely in
the west that I decided to replace the QHY8 with my webcam to get my first
Jupiter images since 2001.
The planet was only 17 degrees above the horizon, a hight where I usually
wouldn't even try deep sky stuff because of the bad seeing down there.
I'm wondering how some people can get really good detail on Jupiter with it
being so low this year...

Taken with a Meade 10" ACF at f/20, Philips ToUCam.

That's more than I've seen this year. Nothing but clouds so haven't
even looked at but a couple times before the impact. But its been so
fuzzy I'd never see it and I'm a few degrees south of you I think.

The really great shots of the impact have been coming out of Australia
where it is right smack dab overhead. In a few years we'll get our chance.

Not bad Stefan

I too never image planets. I see these images that look good that others
take but I just am not set up for them
