Default Q: compilation of aips++ with gcc 4.1.1 under FC5

I have been trying to compile aips++ (that is casa-19.1488) on
a Fedora Core 5 system with gcc 4.1.1. There is a massive amount of C++
related overloading problems left over that I've dumped into
http://www.strw.leidenuniv.nl/~mathar/progs/aips++.log , after
hacking the installation of auxiliary packages as described in
http://www.strw.leidenuniv.nl/~matha...aips++_fc5.pdf .
Is anyone with related experience out there to provide some hints on
which of the packages have to be edited in which manner to compile?

The problem is over-exposure to cool plasma in the neural network. This
sort of problems can never be corrected. When the neural network has no
hot plasma reference, exposure to cool plasma overloads the neural
network, which will cause neurons to think they are pond scum and
multiply at a massive rate. As you have noted, it is very prevalent in
C++ code.
Sorry to hear of your encounter with it effect's, but remember you are
not alone.

Steve
