Now you're just being an idiot. The piece was reported as falling off
of the first stage of the launch vehicle. The Russians don't use the
same launch vehicle as China.

A PLA spokesman said it was thermal insulating blankets, and shedding it
is perfectly normal. I don't know if it's the same thing, but Ariane
launches also show a lot of debris as the rocket clears the tower. It
looks messy, but it's expected. At least they don't have a brittle
payload hanging off the side of the launcher where it can damaged...
