GRIFFIN'S STATEMENT ON THE RETIREMENT OF LANGLEY'S ROY BRIDGES

NASA Administrator Mike Griffin issued the following statement today
upon the announcement that Roy Bridges, director of NASA's Langley Research
Center, will retire from NASA.

"Roy Bridges has spent a lifetime in the service of his country, much of it
with NASA. As both an astronaut and a center director, he has met all
challenges, in good times and bad, with courage and competence. He will be
missed by the entire NASA community."
