There are still good programmes on terrestrial TV.

Does "terrestrial TV" mean that it arrives via a buried cable?

No, it means it doesn't arrive via a satellite dish.

I already figured that, but does he mean that it arrives via cable or via radio-wave broadcast?

I disagree. The quality of scripted television has never been higher.

In your opinion.

Obviously. Hardly an isolated or rare one, however.

Interesting. Of course, there _seems_ to be so little of it around that even

So little of what?

Scripted television.

I was recently reading that there are currently something like 600
scripted TV programs airing in the United States. The article was in
the context of the problems faced by TV reviewers, who are no longer
able to come close to reviewing everything that airs.

I've started being very selective, rejecting shows that are no doubt
enjoyable and that a few years ago I would have watched. I still spend
more time watching TV than I'd really like, despite limiting it to
what I'd describe as shows of very high quality- superb writing and
acting.

No. My view of TV quality is an opinion. My observation that many
others share that opinion is a fact.

No doubt some others share your opinion about "TV quality," but it is your -opinion- that such people are not rare or isolated.
