Default Faster to Mars with Human power.

It occurred to me, YAOGI (Yet An Other Genius Idea)
after seeing those astronauts exercise in the (now soon redundant) space
station, why not use an ion engine powered by generators driven by the
astronauts.
On the 2 year trip to / from mars, they need to train anyways,
So let them peddle for electricity for the ion engines :-)
Want to go home sooner? Peddle a little harder...
It will also work far out in the solar system where there is little sunlight for
solar cells.
Sort of a by-product of human space travel...
