Green laser pointer disassembly?
I ran across mentions of using a green laser pointer to point-out stars.
Sounds like a way-cool idea to me. So I ordered a BTG-6 laser pointer, just like this one but not tuned to 5 mW: http://www.z-bolt.com/generic27.html Most websites say the output power cannot exceed 5 mW. But this website says it's the input power, not the output power, that cannot exceed 5 mW: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/deharpport/noname1.html What's the deal, what's right? From what I can tell the BTG-6 has a simple rheostat pot, probably to tune the output power. http://repairfaq.ece.drexel.edu/sam/...c/glpdpics.htm Or maybe it changes the pulse width. Does anybody know? The bottom-line question here is the best way to disassemble the BTG-6 laser. It sems these guys do it regularly without tearing it up: http://www.z-bolt.com/ Has anyone here done this? Any recommendations on the best way to get at the PC board? Thanks for your help. |

Never mind, I figured it out. It's pressed in for the final 1/8".
