Default Any new craters on the moon?

rosebud:
I am looking at a picture of the moon. All those craters spread
around, apparently from collisions.

Does anyone know if we have evidence of any craters that have been made
on the moon in the last 300 hundred years or less? Better yet, do we
have a pictures of the moon showing the before and after views of the
making of a new crater?

Trouble is, that identification has now been shown to be incorrect. Look
at http://abob.libs.uga.edu/bobk/ccc/cc030703.html, for instance.
There are pictures of craters made by Ranger probes, though.

Ah, thanks. I remembered the original story on the BBC site but hadn't
seen the Sky & Telescope article.
