Or is it a rocky frozen planet with a thick turbulent atmosphere?

Yes Bert and that solid core could be considered to be all there is of Jupiter--and the rest is its atmosphere!

Mark it is a gas planet.Its gravity can hold hydrogen and helium.Jupiter spinning so very fast creates its own heat.Best to keep in mind the sun appears like a bright star.Reality is Jupiter gives of more heat than it recieves Its eye tells us a lot.Jupiter's solar system tells us a lot.Jupiters magnetic field tells us a lot.Bert
