Laser Telescope ????

Why can't we amplify the light from a distant star by entering a laser
tube,and increasing its intensity. I got this idea from how an "SCT"
telescope works. Bert

Because a laser work by bouncing back and forth photons between two
semi-transparent mirrors thus we loose the directionnal information (i.e. the
picture) of the photons. But a maserm is very good to amplify radio waves.

P.S. What do you mean by "SCT"??

telescope uses two mirrors and does reflect light back and forth. The
primary mirror has a hole in its center and light goes through that hole

Many telescope designs have their focal plane behind the primary mirror.
Common designs of this type include the SCT, MCT, Classical Cassegrain and
Ritchey-Chretien. All of these use two mirrors but only the first two are
"catadioptric". What makes them catadioptric isn't the two mirrors (all of
the above have two mirrors. Catadioptric means that the design uses both
mirror and lens to achieve focus. The SCT and MCT both have a full aperture
corrective lens whereas the CC & RC designs are mirrors only. Even
Newtonians use two mirrors. You need to do a bit more research before
spouting off.

photons cant really be amplified. It is better to convert to electron and
amplified that. Technology is so advanced now that even single photon can
be detected if they want to so there's no need to amplify photon though
probably need to amplify electrons.

onegod What you posted sounds right. I know electron coupling is use by
are great radio wave detector in Chile. Bert
