Newbie
I have just bought a new telescope with an equatorial mount and a copy of
starry night, when I use starry night it gives me a set of coordinates how do I set the telescope to these coordinates ? |

There's a good article on celestial coordinates at
http://skyandtelescope.com/howto/bas...icle_562_1.asp Basically, you'll need to polar align the telescope (point its polar axes towards Polaris) and calibrate the mount's setting circles using a star of known Right Ascension and Declination. You might want to take an Introduction To Astronomy class at any major
university. The University of Illinois in Springfield has a great course that meats in the evenings. Hopefully Helpful, BTJustice "Paul Tracey" wrote in message ...
