Mariner IV Mars fly-by 40th anniversary

Looking at some NASA websites, it seems NASA completely ignores one of
their greatest accomplishments when 40 years ago, Mariner IV sent back
the first close-up photos of Mars.

Of course, because NASA targeted the "wrong" hemisphere, Mariner IV
almost killed all interest and enthusiasm for Mars exploration. It took
Mariner 9 to get things back on track.
