A newly reported variable star in Cepheus?

You might expect that all the bright high-amplitude variable stars
have been well studied by the many amateur astronomers interested in
this branch of science. This is certainly not the case as can be seen
from looking at the background to this star in Lacerta - where little
apart from the fact of its variability has been reported.
