Default Diffuse Nebula ?????I'm looking at the picture of "Tarantula"

It has arm that look like a spider. Its a great star factory. Its
1,000LY across and 160,000 LY away. As nebula's go this has lots of
structure. It begs the question "Why so diffused"? Did an explosion
take place? The Ring nebula had an explosion. Looking at the Eagle
nebula its so much different than Tarantula . That tells me nebula's
have different structures. Structures that changed when a supernova
goes off. TreBert

Nebula are the first large universe structures and poorly understood.
So much fudging by imperial thinkers about them. They should be
ashamed. TreBert

Actually, diffuse nebula (or bright emission nebula) are well understood. Why not read a bit about them and learn?

http://www.naic.edu/~gibson/30dor/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffuse...iffuse_nebulae

http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/emission_nebulae.html

http://astro.nineplanets.org/twn/types.html

There are several types of diffuse nebula. Star-forming regions like the Tarantula Nebula are huge, whereas planetary nebula, like the Ring Nebula, and supernova remnants, like the Veil Nebula, are quite small in comparison, and each have completely different origins. All are similar in that they are all illuminated, one way or another, by starlight.

Remember that the size we see them in the sky is not at all indicative as to how big they really are in comparison to each other. If we were to place the Tarantula Nebula between ourselves and the Orion Nebula, it would completely fill the void; that is, Orion is about 1500 light years away from us while the Tarantula is about 1500 light years in diameter!

Reading and learning are not Bert's forte'.

Dramatically sorry, double negatards are grammatically incorrect.

Happy days *and*...
Starry starry nights !
