Me and My Laptop
Well I can take it to bed with me,and read my email(reply to it) and
read the posts here in astronomy(do not know how to reply to them yet) Still its cold using my web on the porch. This way I read your posts, and have more time to analyze them. This should make for better posts by me(hopefully) Is having a laptop, and a web relative to having two heads? Reality is they both can't be used simultaneously. I would not give up my web for a million laptops. Go figure Bert |

Go figure Bert If you are using Google to acess Usenet, you have to create an account giving a user name and a valid email address before you can reply to posts. A code will be set to your email address which you must enter to prove that it is a valid email address. It is free. Double-A |

Double-A I('ll try that. Mean while its in the high 70s so its not
cold in the mornings. I think good(expensive) laptops must make a difference. Laptop takes its time. One press of the button with a web and your there. Go figure Bert |

Cable modem access is fast. Double-A |

Hey Bert
Why don't you for the heck of it see if your phone company supports DSL? It's really the only way to make full use of a 'real' computer (short of the turbo-speed Comcast). Also, with DSL you can be on both your Webbie rig and the 'puter at the same time. The Webbie really excels though, in doing NGs and serving as a spam trap. oc Header address is a spam trap. Bert If you are going through AOL, they will use your computer's resources to download all their pop-up ad crap! That really slows things down. You should find a REAL ISP. Double-A |

Double-A nightbat Wait a minute Commander for what are you indicating, that AOL is using all of Sean advanced super computer resources to maintain its enormous customer data base while charging premium online rates? Darla does use AOL reported tapped ISP but then who's using who, oh mercy? ponder on, the nightbat |

nightbat Double-A,and Twitty I want to thank you all for helping, but
I'm a computer dummy. I know how computers work, but this laptop is not friendly. Why does AOL keep popping up pages of adds? Why is there no words like reply and send nest to the discussion posts? Why does the typewriter have to be right up to the screen? It should be portable like now I'm typing, and sitting 7 feet from the screen.I can stand up walk around and still click into where I want to go. Seems those in groups that did not like me and called me a webby were right. I am a web guy,and a happy one . Go figure Bert |
