Tight fit.
No, not the group that sung "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" ;-)
Just managed to get the Moon and Venus on a single, through-the-scope, image tonight. Had to resort to using my little ST-80 to do it. A bit of a squeeze though... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/p.lawrence1/lunar/moon+venus_240304_19h45m.jpg Here's a composite of the crescent and the Earthshine components. I still find it a bit tricky to handle the Earthshine-terminator boundary. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/p.lawrence1/lunar/3daymoon.jpg Finally, just to see what would come out, here's a 30s ISO1600 image of the crescent Moon on the 24th March. Curves have been pushed to brighten the image further. Notice the reasonably large number of stars that appear in the image. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/p.lawrence1/lunar/30s-1600.jpg -- Pete Lawrence http://www.pbl33.co.uk Come and visit the "Lunar Parallax Demonstration Project" |
