Telescope for Comet hunting
I have been advised that a telescope for comet hunting should have a wide field
of view. I am considering buying an Orion Europa 8" Newtonian Reflector, which has a f4.7 version. However I am aware that good ete pieces must be used with a short focal ratio telescope. What are the supplied eyepieces like with this scope? I could afford a 10" but feel would need the DX mount which puts it out of my budget! :-{ Thanks for any info on telescopes for comet searching. |

PS I have read reviews criticising the thumbscrews for collimating this
telescope.....should I worry about this feature? How easy is this telescope to collimate? Thanks again |

Telescope for Comet hunting
Orion's latest telescopes now come with new brass screws for collimating.
Orion claims these new nuts make collimation easier. They have made other modifications to their instruments, such a replacing the thick two vaned spider with a thin four vaned one. See the adverts in the latest 'Astronomy Now' for more info. "Laurencelman" wrote in message ... I do not have an Orion Europa telescope, however another thing you might like
to consider is upgrading the mount. You might like to consider upgrading to a stronger heavier mount although perhaps some owners might be able to confirm whether or not this is necessary. |

Probably not vital for low power, wide field, visual use. Regards, Chris |
