Is Parks for real with this?
http://www.parksoptical.com/images/1_8f4HITastro.jpg Just don't even think about loosening the RA and DEC clamps! The mount looks a lot like those sold by Orion and the like, and that it's about ready to collapse! Alan |

You know, that is the old Newt-Cassegrain configuration that was used by
Starliner, Optical Craftsman, and Cave for many years in their top of the line products. You had a flip secondary which could put you in either mode. All of us old guys used to drool over such things. I guess Parks must have given in to that "super-minoris" mounting technology in upgrading things for the modern budget. At least one can have solice in the fact that the complete mounting weighs less than a 31mm Nagler! And I suppose one does not need to be concerned much with periodic error when your worm has only one tooth. However, breaking wind might result in broken optics as the force could knock the scope over. |
