Everyone ready for Bobbert to start screaming about how the sky is falling because it could fall on us and destroy NYC? I was expecting him to warn how the asteroid would fall out of control, smashing into a launch of a refurbished space shuttle, sending *that* crashing uncontrollably into the White House, both destroying all hope of space flight for generations to come and putting thousands of people out of work while they have to rebuild every space vehicle ever. -- http://nebusresearch.wordpress.com/ Joseph Nebus Current Entry: From the Venetian Quarter http://wp.me/p1RYhY-rs --------------------------------------------------------+--------------------- |

One needs to examine the 'ore' of a mine to make sure it isn't "country rock." it's a process if it leads to something.............Trig |

Also, it looks like this program got a relatively small amount of funding to start with ($100 million doesn't seem like much for a NASA program). I wouldn't be surprised if all of that money is spent without flying any hardware. Of course. But Bobbert will be back about 6 months from now squealing about, "Remember how everyone laughed at me when I proposed moving an asteroid?" He'll conveniently forget all the details, like his proposed size... -- "Some people get lost in thought because it's such unfamiliar territory." --G. Behn Of course, and I'll bet that all this turns out to be is some kind of feasiblity study, to see if it's possible to mount a mssion of this type. And if it comes back as "not practical", then the Bobbert will scream that NASA is "in the way" of the mission, even if they decide it's impractical. |
