So how are the Chinese Newtonians?
I've had quite a bit of experience with the Chinese refractors,
and most of them perform admirably, especially for the price, but I'm kind of curious as to how scopes equipped with Chinese primary mirrors and diagonals are working out? -Rich |

Go over too Yahoo and check out the Celestron groups. I know one fellow who had one of the 8" scopes and the coma was so bad the only way he could deal with it was to place tape in the corners of his eyes, you know sort of make them slanted, see he figured the little yellow buggers that made the things were probably looking on the bias...... Hope that helps! This is actually quite a compliment. As you say it, the coma is the most serious issue with the mirror in question. In other words - it's a well made mirror, since the rest of the aberations are small. No matter how you precise you make a mirror, you cannot reduce the coma. As it happens, my 8" scope is with a Chinese primary. And the mirror is well made, indeed. Especially for the price. Regards, - Alex |

The Starmaster is better, but the Chinese XT10 was very good. Clear skies, TOm |
