This time rumors more than just rumors?:

This is what Griffin said.....

"The goals have to remain in place for longer than a presidential
administration or a session of Congress if you are to get anything
out of the space program."

This is what he [should] have said......

"The goals have to [provide a substantial reason to exist] for longer than a
presidential administration or a session of Congress....."

I mean setting goals aint rocket science. The Vision suffers from the same
basic fault as the ISS. We decided to build it first, then left figuring out
what to do with it to ....later. "Have Faith"! They say, the benefits and
discoveries will f l o w l i k e w i n e somehow someday if we just
go and built it.

The 'promises of microgravitry' and all that crap with the ISS, now those
'Magic Moon Minerals" ...helium 3 just lying everywhere all over the place
"Just think of all those cheap fusion reactors we can build on the
.....freakin' moon."!

Fusion reactors on the....freakin' moon. Come on!
Fusion....the pipe-dream of all pipe-dreams.
A pipe-dream that is, thinking we can manage to build one ....on Earth.

But the Moon....that'll be easy....they say, cheap and plentiful...they said.
Much easier then building them on Earth!

Do they have any bridges to sell too?

They sounded like shady real estate salesman back when they were
pitching the ISS. With the Vision they sound even worse
if that's possible.

"It's our destiny"! They finally say! I prefer the Blind Faith of religion
to some poorly conjured 'Destiny' any day of the week!
Unfortunately, our manned space program is relying firmly on...both.

Sheez!

NASA: We want to spend Eleventy Billion dollars and Fifty Years to
build a moon and mars base.

Public: And then what?

NASA: Huh? "You can't seriously expect us to see that far into the future"?

Our nation's single most visible and prestigious /scientific/ project of all
leaving it's ultimate success or failure to 'A M a t t e r o f F a i t h'
with two-bit salesmen preaching our future.

Sometimes I just can't believe these things are really happening.
I mean, if this was a Hollywood script...I wouldn't buy it for a second.

And yet you and far too many others think we've walked on the moon.
Try to imagine that as a Hollywood script, if you will, and would you
buy it?

How about your buying into a Hollywood script pertaining to the planet
Venus?

If it is Bolden, wouldn't he be only the second former Astronaut to get the
job? Dick Truly was the first IIRC.

To Boldenly go where NASA has never gone before!

No, we really and Truly mean it!

Don't get smart-ass, son...that's my job.
I was getting smart-ass back when you were sucking on your mother's tit
at Woodstock.
BTW...have you ever considered the advantages of being a smart-ass with
_Extensible Adamantine Steel Claws_?
It changes the whole smart-ass equation.
We should talk. ;-)

I sure as hell don't see any vision in using Bolden. Is his advanced
research or expertise in physics and science, for other than being a
good civil service employee, hidden or top secret nondisclosure rated?

Did Bolden work for the likes of our DARPA or something more "Area 51"
top secret? (if so, what the hell did he do for the past couple of
decades?)

I'd want to see a fairly long list of those kinds of advanced
associations and/or accomplishments, as otherwise BHO should hire
William Mook, because at least Mook has bipolar spunk in his vision
and somewhat interesting expertise to boot. Mook even believes in all
of the official mainstream infomercials and eye-candy, plus otherwise
uses subjective as meaning the same as objective, thus absolutely dead
certain we've walked on the moon.

What our NASA needs is a wizard of Oz, and a damn good miracle or two.

What ever happened to giving/merging NASA over to our USAF that's
already up and running?

Faking it would have cost far more money, with much greater risk.
I mean the ruskies would love nothing better than expose a fake.
Why didn't they? If the answer is 'we're just that good'...well then
we're good enough to actually do it.

In other words, you've still got absolutely nothing except the Old
Testament version of your Apollo Qur'an.

btw, it still takes two to tango, especially on behalf of any mutual
ruse/sting of crimes against humanity.

Are you still suggesting that governments and their faith-based puppet
masters are always honest?

I'll be glad to offer the script. However, I've got nothing that'll
fly for the blind and incurably dumbfounded kind of closed mindset.

Are you always opposed to the regular laws of physics, and otherwise
willing to obfuscate the best available science?

It's the future that matters. Changing the past is easy, just ask any dictator.
