For all the months I have spent recreating the fire, trying to
replicate the size of the Command Module based upon photographs, books,
and films

Instead of trying to replicate the CM why don't you just go to KSC and climb
in the mockup in the rocket garden ?

Looks like the is a fair bit of room to maneuver in here

Well, I'll make it to KSC eventually, probably late spring, but I've
seen that photograph many times before...it's extremely misleading.
You have to SEE it to believe it. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

....Kids, this is what we should encourage the psychotic skank to do -
recreate the fire. Just have two of her "team" climb in a pressurized
can, fill it with pure O2 at 16.5 PSI, let it sit for an hour to
saturate everything, then have one of them light that meth-laced HR
they no doubt brough with them. It'll prove that such an environment
is deadly, and it'll put the Poster Child for Retroactive Abortion out
of our misery once and for all.

Oh, I'm SO glad you said that. Perhaps you can tell me which of the
astronauts was smoking in there? Let me give you a little lesson in
chemistry, since it seems even the Chairman of the House Subcommittee
embarrassed himself on the Record in front of a room full of
scientists, all of whom sat their snickering to themselves, by saying,
(quoting from memory so might not be exact, but it's very close):
"I've been contacted by a number of my constituents, all of whom
remember their high school chemistry. And they all know where you've
got pure O2 you've got fire." Well, apparently Chairman Teague AND his
constituents all FLUNKED high school chemistry because no, you do NOT.
You can take a room, fill it with as much pure O2 as it will
hold...saturate EVERY PORE. Pack it full of every flammable material
known to mankind. And that room will sit there doing absolutely
NOTHING unless and until you add HEAT.
As Scott Grissom said to me one night, in a sarcastic, funny voice I
couldn't hope to duplicate even if I were talking to you in person,
"Gee, they'd only been using pure O2 since 1940."
The O2 has been the greatest red herring ever invented, and just goes
to show the government knows all-too-well how to cover up the truth;
just play on the collective ignorance of the American people.

Erm...isn't this why everybody says there was a short, caused a spark and then
"foomf"...fire...?

A fire which spread rapidly due to the pure O2 atmosphere in the spacecraft and
due to the flamable materials inside it.

Hell, it happened to the Soviets during a simulator run years before Apollo 1,
which was what made them switch to a non-pure O2 environment in their
spacecraft so your note about "gee they've only been using pure O2 since 1940
years" does not slide. There were talks I believe to use a mixed atmosphere on
the X-20 Dyna-Soar.

Nobody in the program seemed suspicious of faulty wiring as spacecraft 012 had
been modified, and modified time and again to the point it was a mess of
re-wiring jobs. They found bad wiring in CSM 014 (which was tagged for AS 205)
and the Block I CSM tagged for the unmanned Apollo 4.
